Advocacy Work
Sometimes, the best way we can create change is through using our bodies to create a visible boundary outside of a workplace to protest conditions, demand better pay or benefits, or oppose layoffs. A picket line is a visible, often organized boundary formed by striking workers or their supporters; participants typically carry signs, chant slogans, and distribute leaflets to inform the public and discourage others from entering the premises, thereby applying economic and reputational pressure on the employer.

The Naugatuck Valley Project recognizes individuals and groups, whose leadership, service, and vision have strengthened and inspired the fight against poverty and improved community well-being.
Believing labor, faith, and community partnerships are at the heart of this effort, we believe joining together the various Union memberships and faith-based community members and congregants, and Valley town residents are necessary for achieving justice and flourishing in the region.
